All Water Softeners require periodic maintenance. How often depends on whether your on municipal or well water, how much iron or manganese is contained in the water.
We recommend a full softener service for Municipal Water every 2 years and for well water a annual servicing.
What's included

Reverse Osmosis, whether under-the-counter or whole house units require routine maintenance in order to perform at manufacturers specifications and provide you with the best drinking water available.
RO units need Sediment and Carbon filter changes every 6-12 months. As well, all RO units come with a Membrane that will require routine replacement. Depending on your unit, most membranes last between 24-36 months.

UV disinfection systems protect against microorganisms and pathogens by using ultraviolet light
to disinfect water effectively. The damaging effect of UV-C rays on the DNA of microorganisms renders them incapable
of reproduction and eliminating the risk of contamination.
All UV Lamps must be changed annually. Most units have a daily countdown to alert you when to change the bulb.
As bulbs get older they become less intense and can potentially allow bacteria to pass if they are not changed annually, as per most manufacturers recommendations.

For home owners who rely on Well water we recommend a initial full biological and chemical analysis of your well water. Then a follow up test every 3-6 years.
Its important to know what is in your water in order to treat for it. Well water can change depending on many factors including nearby development, natural events, etc.
The core of well water is the actual well. Like everthing else it does require regular inspection, cleaning and possibly treatment for chemical or biological contaminants like ecoli and coliforms. Failing to properly maintain a well can expose you to possible bacteria or virus contamination.

Plumbing system disinfection, involves flushing with chlorine or hydrogen peroxide. The process of treating a plumbing system to kill or significantly reduce harmful bacteria and other microorganisms, ensuring the water is safe for consumption and use.
Water heaters are especially sususptable to odor causing bacteria from minerals like Manganese.
Another reason to disinfect is when a known contaminant has entered the system such as ecoli or coliforms usually from a well or lake water source.
