Cartridge filters trap and remove contaminants from water sources. These filters operate based on
a principle known as depth filtration, where the filter medium captures impurities as water flows through it.
The filter cartridge itself is typically composed of materials like pleated paper, spun polypropylene, stringwound or porous
ceramic.
As water passes through the filter housing, it encounters the cartridge. Contaminants in the water get entrapped within
the filter cartridge providing clean filtered water on the other side.
Sizing a filter cartridge system depends on the quantity and type of impurities in the source water. Typically for a point of use filter then size is 2.5 x 10in.
For Point of Entry applications the standard sizes are 4.5x10in Big Blue or 4.5x20in Big Blue units.
