Automatic Filters

How they work

Automatic water filters use water system pressure to clean themselves, trapping debris in a filter media and then flushing it out when a pressure differential is reached.

Here's more detail:

Trapping Debris:
Water is pushed through a filter media that traps and separates particles from the water source.

Pressure Build-up:
As sediment or contaminents accumulate, it causes a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the filter.

Triggering the Cleaning Cycle:
A controller monitors the filter and opens a flush valve when the pressure differential reaches a set point or a pre determined day.

Automatic Backwash:
This creates a low-pressure flow, allowing suction nozzles to vacuum the debris from the filter.

No Flow Interruption:
Automatic backwash does not interrupt the system flow.

As Needed Cleaning:
The self-cleaning cycle is triggered when suspended solids accumulate until the pressure differential is met triggering the cleaning.
